GROENENDIJK D , OVAA A , BERLIJN M & CDNA (2011) Rare birds in The Netherlands in 2009. LIMOSA 84 (1): 26-31.

This contribution is a summary of the annual report of the Dutch rarities committee (CDNA) over the year 2009, published in Dutch Birding (Ovaa et al. 2010). In 2009, two new species were added to the Dutch avifaunal list: Caspian Plover Charadrius asiaticus and Long-toed Stint Calidris subminuta. A date extension of a record of Oriental Turtle Dove Streptopelia orientalis in 2010 is still under consideration, and may represent a third addition. Other notable species recorded in 2009 were Egyptian Vulture Neophron percnopterus (2nd record), Baltimore Oriole Icterus galbula (2nd record), Ross's Goose Anser rossii (5 individuals), Buff-breasted Sandpiper Tryngites ruficollis (6) and Pallid Harrier Circus macrourus (8). ####
